Portable Power: New Business Concepts

Client Situation: The client, a large manufacturer of batteries was interested in exploring what the future world of portable power would look like, what opportunities will exist and what are the potential product/service concepts they should investigate further.

Response: Monitor Technologies was responsible for developing and conducting two workshops:

• A technology roadmapping workshop in which the likely development paths for competing portable power technologies were created based on expert estimates of performance gaps, breakthroughs, and their timings
  
• A scenario workshop in which participants (experts, Monitor staff, Client staff) imagined likely futures for portable power and, based on that, potential opportunities and applicable product/service concepts

Results: The MT workshops were major events in the assignment. The members of the client team were able to work side-by-side with world class expert in portable power and devices to create sound concepts for future products and services.
